HIM Technicians at Precyse

"Precyse is at the cutting edge of the HIM industry's transformation; being part of an organization that is growing and innovative is exciting and inspires me in the work I do every day."
– Tony F.
HIM Supervisor

For Precyse HIM Technicians, each day is different and filled with new challenges to meet. Medical records has truly transformed into Health Information Management. The department that used to focus on mainly ensuring the doctors had the charts they needed to effectively treat patients has seen a metamorphosis. The HIM department of today is an information resource for the entire hospital, and HIM Technicians are an integral part of making that happen.

Precyse employs more than 255 HIM Technicians located nationwide. Each new colleague receives a full orientation with training that includes how to prep, scan and index documents into the hospital's electronic medical record. Also included is instruction on qualitative and quantitative analysis to ensure the completeness of the medical record.

New colleagues are trained by a project lead or supervisor in the department, and once they are familiar with the basics of the job, they are placed with a fellow colleague to work alongside until they are comfortable working independently. Career advancement opportunities are numerous and include opportunities to learn a new skill set and mentor new colleagues. HIM Technicians can advance from a scanner to an analyst or Release of Information Specialist.

Working for Precyse is seldom boring and colleagues are constantly supported by a great team of managers. The company works hard to provide top-notch education, keeping colleagues prepared for the future. Precyse strives to keep its colleagues engaged; the company values their opinions, but most of all, values them.

What we look for:
  • High school graduate or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum two years of previous HIM department experience required.
  • Must be proficient with hospital HIM computer systems.
  • Fosters respect for patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality in all phases of work.

Our commitment to our HIM Technician colleagues: Precyse University, 24X7 technical support, comprehensive benefit package, career advancement opportunities, a highly accomplished management team, colleague recognition programs and competitive compensation.
